About Us
BSPHI is a not for profit organization based out of the Bellefontaine, Ohio. We conduct investigations into the paranormal in a scientific manner. Our main mission is to seek out suspected haunted locations and to assist those who are experiencing paranormal events. We then search for ‘solid’ evidence of the paranormal and try to determine if the location is haunted. We seek genuine evidence and are sensitive with the presentation of this evidence insuring that it is researched and analyzed before presented.
By using the scientific method, we are able to obtain tangible evidence. We look for evidence that leaves no doubt about its origin, cause and/or effect.
We are ‘hopeful skeptics’ and will question all of the evidence that is collected and then analize the evidence against a number of theories, tests and second opinions before we label it as paranormal.
The credibility of the group must be maintained above all. We do not work with psychics or conduct investigations using metaphysical methods. In addition, we do not claim to be experts in the paranormal, as no experts exist when it comes to the paranormal, no matter what anyone may claim or who may claim to be one. We are working to present an image of competent researchers who are collecting the most authentic empirical evidence possible. BSPHI investigations are held to the standards of the group and are conducted with integrity, honesty and with discretion.
It is the philosophy of BSPHI to try and rule out every natural explanation for a haunting before considering the idea that the cause of the phenomena might be a ghost. This is not because we are non-believers but because we are trying to provide authentic evidence of the paranormal. We do not make false claims about being experts but base our knowledge on our experiences, and not on what we want ghosts to be. Our investigations are conducted in a scientific manner, with emphasis on site-based environmental data collection. We do not conduct "exorcisms" nor do we engage in the termination of paranormal activities. What we will do is give you professional attention, document any evidence found after analysis and assist you in a resolution if any is sought.

Book Donations
Over 100 books have been donated and still going. In our ongoing mission to inform the public on the subject of the paranormal BSPHI has a book donation program. We donate non-fiction books to libraries all over the country. If you are associated with a library please fill out our application form for consideration.
The majority of this program is funded by donations from our members. When we have a 'fun' investigation we request a small donation from each member attending. This money is then used to support our book donation program. Other monies are generated by T-shirt sales and by the ad links on our site.
I'm an author that would like to help....
How do we do it? With your help. We have a partnership with a few web companies. Any money that is generated from these sources are used, 100%, to purchase books.
