Description of Location:
|
"Prospect Place" was the home of the George Willison Adams family of Dresden, Ohio, in the 19th & 20th centuries. This structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is currently in the process of being restored. In the 1850s and 1860s the house was a station on the "Underground Railroad". Although a few fine homes remain in Dresden from this era, Prospect Place is the last remaining Dresden area mansion (There were five: Prospect Place; River Dale; Mulberry Grove; Maple Hollow and Elm Grove), the others have met the fate of time and neglect and are no more. These were the homes of the "Lords of the Valley", men of great influence and wealth who helped tame a new land and create a community. |

Terminology
Members of The Underground Railroad often used specific jargon, based on the metaphor of the railway. For example:
- People who helped slaves find the railroad were "agents" (or "shepherds")
- Guides were known as "conductors"
- Hiding places were "stations"
- Abolitionists would fix the "tracks"
- "Stationmasters" hid slaves in their homes
- Escaped slaves were referred to as "passengers" or "cargo"
- Slaves would obtain a "ticket"
- Just as in common gospel lore, the "wheels would keep on turning"
- Financial benefactors of the Railroad were known as "stockholders"

This was from the basement while one investigator was alone in the dark while two other investigators were in another part of the basement. At the time they were gone the investigator started to feel some very cold breezes. When the other investigators came back he had them feel my arm to see how cold I was.
Another evp taken from the basement while one investigator was alone. If this was head as a disemboded voice, it might have been a "Dude Run" moment.
One male and one female investigator in the servents room. You can hear something sit down or move the chair in the corner. We are both seated across the room. The KII flashes on the chair at the same time.
This is in the ballroom the investigator put an audio right when you walk in the door and then went to the back of the room.
Right at the start of the audio before you hear "I'm at...." you will hear a voice.
All of the following are from our mini box. A couple of these have some bad words but I am posting them as a way to show these can not be radio signals- the FCC would have a fit.
- We asked "Do you want to talk to Tammi." the response back we got was Joan. Yes, there was a Jaon in the room. listen
While we were in the basement we were trying to get some activity to pick up by rearranging some of the bricks from the house as a trigger test. These recordings were 2 hours after that:
We asked for the box to say a cuss word:
A series of generic questions about the house:
Question: "Tell us your name"
Answer: "Stan Green"
Question: "Are you happy to live here?"
Answer: "Yea"
Question: "Did a woman fall off the balcony?"
Answer: "Yes"
Question: "What happened to the woman (that fell from the balcony)?"
Answer: "She died"
Question: "Was there a little girl that died here?"
Answer: "No, woman"
The below is a must listen and read......
This was recorded in a room that the mini box was left running during the investigation with no investigators in the room. After you listen to the clip read on for more information:
(Male voice) "Help, they're after me." (Female voice) "Braden can help"
The words alone makes this a very interesting clip. However, the paranormal community is a tight nit group and I am lucky enough to know a lady form across the county named Vicki Talbott. Here is here words on her son Braden:
It seems as if a communicator from the Other Side was with you on this investigation. Braden Talbott Lindholdt died in March of 2001 in a kayaking accident in the Pacific Northwest. Since then, he has been communicating through EVP/ITC to individuals and in research groups throughout the world. He has said that one of his missions is to help others cross over. In this clip, we can hear a distressed being saying "After me...they're after me; they're after me!" followed by another saying, "Braden can help." I think perhaps he was there to help the troubled entity transition from the place of investigation.

Personal Experiences:
|
At approximatlly 3:27am. 3 investigators, Gene, Amity and Tammi was walking to the Servants Quarters on the 2nd floor.
Gene was leading in front, with Amity second in line and Tammi last in line behind Amity.Gene walked through the doorway and walked into the first room of the Servants Quarters (the haint blue room).

(picture of the hallway before the incident)
Amity walked through the 1st doorway and stepped up on the step to enter the servants quarters where Gene was.Tammi grabbed Amity’s arm and said "Oh Am,something’s got me!”
Amity pulled Tammi through the doorway they was walking through. The door at the entrance of the Servants Quarters quickly slammed shut and the bucket that was holding the door open was sitting directly in front of the door.

(notice the bucket is moved behind the door and also notice that the cords have not been moved)
Tammi quickly ran over to Gene with the look of fear on her face. She said it felt like something had a hold of her foot pulling her back.Upon inspecting the area there was no cables ,or cords or anything that she could have possibly tripped over.
Also, the small lamp sitting on a table next to the area where this incident occurred was setting perfectly on its side.

(lamp on its side- we had opened the door after the bucket moved)

Investigation Summery:
|
This was a 'pay to investigate' location. All of the money collected goes to the The G. W. Adams Educational Center, Inc a 501(c)3 company. The location had several rooms that were off limit due to construction. From the tour that we were given, the locations that were closed seemed to also radiate some of the highest energy, i.e. the sick room and the barn. If you are planing on doing a scientific investigation of the location I would suggest that you ask the tour guide to not disclose alleged paranormal activity from the locations. I feel that too much information was given and it could lead to a tainted investigation. |
In our opinion, based solely on the evidence collected at the
time of this investigation we believe this location to be:

Investigation Lessons Learned:
|
It is important to remember that even is a well know television show investigates a location and does not find any evidence that this does not mean that a location is not haunted. Ghosts never come out on commend or on a schedule.
Please stop at our guest book so we know you stopped in to say hello, thank you.
